Spoilers for “Inside”
Just as last time I’m going to forgo the normal way I recap the show to update the bombing suspect list. I am pretty irked the show teased answers in the winter finale and then really just gave us more questions, but the show did leave us with a pretty damn good cliff hanger. Just as last time, I am going from least likely to most likely.
Natalie Vasquez – I kinda grew to like Natalie a bit more in this episode, she managed to keep that bad attitude of hers in check and just had some fun with the girls. I liked how she put a number blocking app on Alex’s phone so she could drunk dial Ryan. I’m still not sure why she would go after Ryan when she knows that he and Alex are way hung up on one another, but that will have to be explained in the spring episodes.
Liam O’Connor – Despite being super creepy in his whatever he has going with Alex, I don’t think Liam is a bad guy, just a drunk and big screw up. Seriously the Electra vibes is just too much. Liam is essentially a father figure to Alex. Of course there is a possibility he is dead.
Shelby Wyatt – A possible pawn, but not the bomber. She is also on the “could be dead” list.
Simon Asher – He was being set up by Elias to be the second bomber. I kinda feel for him now since he inadvertently triggered the real bomb. Was anyone shocked the trigger in his hand was not to the bomb in the hotel?
Nimah Amin – Her bleak, but practical outlook on humanity makes me think there is no way she could be the bomber. Cynics do not do extreme things to prove their point, they usually just sit back and let others actions prove they are right.
Raina Amin – She was all sorts of absent from this episode and for some reason that makes me more suspicious of her. I know that is dumb reasoning, but I can’t help it. Since there is not real compelling evidence she did anything wrong, she stays fairly low on the suspect list. Was she in the bank?
Charlie Price – He pops up on Miranda’s door step beaten to hell on New Year’s Eve days (possibly weeks) after his kidnapping. Why was he brought back? Did he escape? Did those who took him get all the information they needed? Or is this staged so he can gain Miranda’s trust?
Ryan Booth – I just can’t shake my suspicions of him. He is too nice, but he always seems to be lying about something. I know he has to lie all of the time because he works undercover, but it seems like every time Alex turns around, it is another thing he has to explain away. Like an ex-wife who he still pretends to be married to all the time for undercover work. AND WE STILL DON’T KNOW WHO SHOT HIM AT ALEX’S PLACE!
Caleb Haas – He is being bumped up this high is because he was checking out the safety deposit vault in the bank eventually used as the command center for the FBI. I think that was another fake out by the show, but his past gives me some pause. He attempted a suicide bombing back when he was a part of the cult and he has demonstrated more than once that he is willing to go to extremes to prove he is right or to get people to see things his way. Could bombing Grand Central and the Bank be another extreme way he is getting a message out there? Is he still working for the cult? The only thing that keeps me from fully suspecting him is he was the one who found and pointed out a lot of the evidence of Alex’s innocence.
Miranda Shaw – She is another one I just can’t shake my suspicions of. She is in the middle of everything, but not really a part of it. She doesn’t actively investigate who the real bomber is or where the next bomb might be, but she is the one reacting to the new information. Of course the same could be said of Liam, but he is a shlub, Miranda is way too cunning.
Clayton Haas – He is still my number one. After Caleb cruelly called out Claire for getting back together with Clayton for political reasons, his face was just so sad and resigned. He knew FBI protocol would be to evacuate the hotel into the bank where people would be safe in the bombing so he of course set the real bomb up in the bank vault he found out his son was keeping. He could have figured out Elias had gone to illegal means to win his cases against the FBI so using him as a patsy was two birds with one stone. Kill his wife and lover along with getting to put a thorn in his side in prison. He was at the hotel before they found the bomb, but we didn’t see him in the bank before the bomb went off. I’m going to laugh my ass off when it turns out Claire and Shelby survived the bank bombing. My guess is after Claire made the threat of destroying Shelby for breaking Caleb’s heart, the two of them went elsewhere to have it out or something along those lines.
Who do you think is the bomber? Are you a little irked we didn’t get any real resolutions even though we were teased answers? I know we found out Elias set Alex and Simon up, but who gave him the order and then shot Ryan in Alex’s apartment, and place Alex on the Grand Central Station rubble? Do you think Shelby and Clair died in the bombing of the bank or just another bad fake out? Quantico will be back on Sunday March 6th. Until then, hit me up in the comments section as to who you think is behind everything and who you think may have died in the bank bombing.
