Dancing with the Stars Season 22 – Snap Judgement of the Cast

This morning on Good Morning America we were finally introduced to the full cast of this season of DWTS. Ladies and gentlemen, break out your ballroom duds and dancing shoes cause it is time to boogie!

Dancing Shoes

Let’s run down our cast:

Marla Maples dancing with Tony Dovolani – Former wife of Donald Trump, she is trying to cash in on some attention with her former husband dominating the news and I’m willing to bet that is not going to sit too well with a lot of the audience. Trump supporters and haters alike will not vote for her unless she comes out of the gate strong.

Kim Fields dancing with Sasha Farber – Her roles in both The Facts of Life and Living Single might get a lot of nostalgia love in the beginning from the late 30 and 40 year olds who love the show. Will she be able to dance well to keep the love going? Good to see Sasha getting a second chance at being to full time pro!

Paige VanZant dancing with Mark Ballas – When she came out this morning, she looked stiff and nervous. Mark looked weary of her. Paige’s experience as a Mixed Martial Arts fighter might help her learn the moves quickly, but grace might be a big issue. I don’t see them lasting too long.

Misha Barton dancing with Artem Chigvintsev – This former OC star might get some nostalgia love in the beginning, but she looks like she is all nerves. I’m willing to bet their dances will rely on Artem doing his sexy thing (which is always a great to watch) around Misha while she does some minor footwork.

Jodie Sweetin dancing with Keo Motsepe – Speaking of big nostalgia, Jodie will have all sorts of love coming her way with the über popularity of Fuller House. She was already showing some of her new moves off this morning when she was introduced and she looked comfortable with her partner. Jodie has a real shot at that mirror ball trophy. Good to see Keo getting a partner with some staying power.

Ginger Zee dancing with Val Chmerkouskly – The plucky and lovable weather personality for GMA will do well because she is someone you want to root for. Her early morning schedule and a new born baby at home might work against her. She will be dealing with some serious sleep issues and Val is not known for going easy on his partners.

Doug Flutie dancing with Karina Smirnoff – I’m always leery of NFLers on the show. Some have done well, but most look stiff and awkward. Fans carry them for a bit, but only for so long. Doug looked all sorts of awkward this morning at his introduction. I think Karina is going to try and have as much fun with the few dances she is going to get like she did last season when she was stuck with Victor Espinoza.

Antonio Brown dancing with Sharna Burgess – The second of three NFLers this season. The Pittsburg Steeler looked like he may have some moves, so hopefully this means he is more Emmett Smith than Michael Irving. Sharna is an amazing choreographer and I can see this couple going far, dare I say, to the finals.

Von Miller dancing with Witney Carlson – The Denver Bronco and Super Bowl 50 MVP also has some moves and Witney is an amazing dancer and choreographer. We may see two big names in football make it to the finals.

Wayna Morris dancing with Lindsay Arnold – Having a natural musicality almost always helps out with dancers and this Boyz II Men singer has lots of musical talent. It is all up to Lindsay to turn that musicality into dance moves. He looked like he was comfortable moving and grooving this morning.

Nyle DiMarco dancing with Peta Murgatroyd – The winner of season 22 of America’s Next Top Model will have a lot of work cut out for him being deaf. But if Marlee Matlin can kick ass on the show, then I don’t see why Nyle couldn’t. Peta is certainly one of the best and most creative dancers on the show.

Geraldo Rivera dancing with Edyta Sliwinska – Geraldo is a big personality who will most likely steam roll over his partner if she doesn’t figure out how to handle him quickly and the dances will reflect as much. Edyta is a returning fan favorite (she took an 11 year hiatus) and is no stranger to challenges, but the two of them were already looking like they had issues this morning. Geraldo does have a big fan base and I can see him going far for that reason only. I expect to be cringing thru every one of his routines.
