The teaser for the animated version of the legendary comic book was released thru a third party channel and not thru DC Entertainment, but the footage looks to be the real deal. Take a look after the jump:
Batman: The Killing Joke is one of DCs most famous and controversial titles and fans have wanted to see a faithful adaptation for some time. This is the first time the infamous DC villain was given an origin story that painted him as a tragic character that had “one bad day” and finally went insane. Tim Burton and Christopher Nolan have used the comic as inspiration for their Jokers.
While the trailer itself doesn’t give any real insight to the storyline for those who haven’t read the comic, it does give us a look at how the animators have chosen to adapt the unique style of Brian Bolland who brought Alan Moore’s story to life on the page. It also seems we as the audience are going to be given more time with Barbara Gordon (AKA Batgirl) before her storyline which altered the character’s path in the comics long after the events The Killing Joke.
Batman: The Killing Joke will premiere at SDCC in July before coming to DVD and stars sees the return of Kevin Conory and Mark Hamill as Bruce Wayne/Batman and The Joker. Other voice talents include Tara Strong and Ray Wise.
