Those of us who didn’t get to go to Comic Con stewed in envy as the lucky ones in Hall H during the Marvel Presentation got to watch all the fun goodies Kevin Feige and Co. had in store. One of the biggest highlights (according to those who went) was the short featuring Thor living in Australia on vacation after saving the world, yet again. The mighty Norse God needed some “me time”, so he moved in with Darryl (the most averaged, everyday guy Thor could find) and got involved with teaching children about The Avengers.
Unfortunately, “something very intense is going on” with Captain America and Iron Man and neither has thought to call upon Thor for help despite the emails Darryl wrote for him offering his assistance. But he keeps busy in the meantime with sun roasting meats and his information gathering on the Infinity Stones.
Check out Thor’s down time with Darryl:
This short may be one of the best things Marvel has ever done. The random bit of silliness from one of the more odd heroes is a great counterpart to the intensity that was Captain America: Civil War. In my mind I can see Thor plodding around in the land down under while everyone else is fighting, enjoying some off time waiting for one of his friends to call and invite him to be a part of their team. Now every time I watch Civil War I’m going to envision Thor just waiting for that raven (he doesn’t have cell phone you know) from Tony or Steve and having coffee with Bruce Banner discussing the weird way the scientist’s pants rip when he Hulks’ out.
The conspiracy board about the Infinity Stones may be the best part. The drawing of Mjolnir in sunglasses holding a mini Thor had me doubled over in laughter.
His questioning if Fury is really Nick’s name was quite brilliant because a part of me wonders that as well. Also this:
What did you think of the “Team Thor” short? Do you think Fury is his real name? Talk to me in the comments section below.
