This morning the first trailer for the next entry in the Vampires vs. Werewolves saga was released. Check it out here:
Even though it was not really a good movie, I happened to enjoy the first Underworld movie back when it was released in 2003. It borrowed from a lot of other and better ideas, but managed not to contribute anything new to the genre. The sequels were a big disappointment, but when can you expect when the original is fairly meh.
When we last left Selene (Kate Beckinsale) she was on the run from Lycans hunting her and Eve (India Eisley), her daughter with werewolf/vampire hybrid, Michael (Scott Speedman who wisely departed the film series after the second one). Following her was David (Theo James), her protégé she turned into another hybrid.
Blood Wars looks to be more of the same, gorgeous vampires taking on horrible looking CGI werewolves along with lots of screaming about how important Selene is. But will that more of the same be entertaining enough to drag audiences into theaters in January, the time where movies go to die?
Underworld: Blood Wars will arrive January 6, 2017 and stars Kate Beckinsale, Theo James, Trent Garrett, Tobias Menzies, and Lara Pulver.
